OMG - Elite Mission Access open to all! (with faction)
I don't recall seeing this in any update notes, and I haven't seen any threads on this. So yeah, apparently you can now spend 1,000 Kurzick/Luzon Faction to purchase either Amber/Jade or a scroll that gives you one-time access to either Urgoz Warren or The Deep. Cool, or what?
What's everyone's opinion on this? I think this, along with the Underworld/FoW tomes, is quite possibly the best thing that's happened in GW in a long time. Finally, a chance for everyone to access all areas of the game with very little work.

Sweet, I didn't know that, either.
I wish there was something similar for FoW and UW, though...(similar, as in as easy to get. Not through random drops in HM).

I saw it in the notes too, but not the part that mentioned you could trade in faction for them.

Ahh, I figured it was on the notes, I just overlooked it, somehow. Wonder why this didn't cause more of a ruckus, as in, no one is talking about it.

I'm afraid that all the good stuff is being overshadowed by the one line about loot scaling.
But on behalf of people in small guilds everywhere - Huzzah! Thankyou anet!

Thats great =o I swapped 1000 faction for an amber peice the other day and just before I clicked it I noticed some mystery option but I clicked automatically and didnt get to read XD I guess this must be what It was.
But yeah, no more waiting for lousy taxis that never fail to remind you 'DONATIONS ARE ACCEPTED!' For a 20 second taxi with a few mouse clicks ¬_¬'

Tell me about it. This will straight-up kill any profits anyone considered making with taxi services. This might in turn lower the overall faction cost for owning HZH and Cavalon, since there is no longer a direct benefit besides your Alliance name in lights, and cheaper ID kits. Then again, people do love their name in lights...
Anyway, I'm just recalling insanely long complaint threads dealing with alternate accesses to FoW/UW, and the Elite Canthan missions, yet when there is an alternate access (and a darn good one, at that), there's not a thanks thread to be found (about these features specifically). Well, just thought I'd chime in with my thanks thread.
(--now just fix SR--)

1,000 faction is not much at all. Effectively, 1 scroll should be worth what a Jade or Amber chunk is worth, around 500-700 gold. The average player can acquire 1,000 faction in a matter of about 15 minutes. Not to mention, so as not to "waste" a use, simply LFG spam in Cavalon/HZH for a Deep/Urgoz party ahead of time, basically getting together a group of players.
A good question might be, does this send you and everyone you're partied with to those locations? I'm assuming the FoW/UW scrolls do, so I would think these do to, but just a question.

No, they only send yourself.
Guilds are FTW here... since you can ferry most everyone in off one scroll. PuGs may not be as happening.

Wait... am I missing something? Isn't that contradictory? You say they only send yourself, then go on to say you can ferry most everyone in off one scroll. Which is it?

If you go to your guild hall from an elite mission outpost, form a party, then use the leave guild hall button you can bring other people with you to the elite mission if they have already been there before.

Seems obvious, but anyway, one guildie gets scroll, and uses it. They then map to guild hall, party up, and ferry everyone there. This only works if everyone in the guild has been to the elite mission at least once.
edit: ^^Beat me to it.^^

Yeah, props to Anet for coming up with a fair solution to elite mission access. I especially like the way they handled FoW/UW. Depending on the rarity of passage scrolls, I'm assuming that it'll still be significantly cheaper to pay the 1k entry fee. So in that way, favor still has some value, but it doesn't completely exclude players in the "unfavored" regions.
The Factions elite mission change is cool as well, although it almost seems too easy now. Kinda devalues the alliances holding Cavalon/HzH in my opinion, but we'll see how things work out.

Unless they changed this again (like within these updates), that's actually not true anymore.
Last weekend, I tried to ferry my boyfriend and it sent me and not him. He had been there before, in fact just hours before. It just split us up and left him standing in our guild hall.
